A new development from Orbital Living Solutions (OLS) seeks to redefine this reality. The company recently unveiled its "Aether Habitat," an expandable module designed to dramatically increase living volume in orbit. The Aether Habitat launches in a compact form, fitting within a standard 4-meter rocket fairing. Once deployed in low Earth orbit, it inflates to a spacious 8 meters in diameter, providing 300 cubic meters of usable volume. OLS plans to attach the first Aether Habitat to a commercial space station in late 2026.
