Announced on September 10, 2026, the material leverages available lunar water ice for its setting process, eliminating the need to transport vast quantities of binders from Earth.
Laboratory simulations indicate LunarCrete achieves a compressive strength 30% greater than conventional Earth-based concrete, while its integrated shielding properties reduce radiation exposure by an estimated 20%.
